This morning's prayer call was awesome! Apostle Dawn Burrell of New Creations Christian Church and Ministries led a powerful prayer and Minister Kevin Harris of St. Stephen Baptist Church blessed us with devotion. Min. Harris discussed John 21:1-6 and titled the devotion "His Promise, His Patience and our Purpose". I'll try to post my notes tomorrow. Today I want to share a valuable lesson that I learned this morning. It's just too good to keep to myself.
Because I am a perfectionist, I get frustrated when things don't go as planned, especially when it pertains to something as important as this prayer call. In addition to the technical difficulties, one of the participants was really sick and another participant was unable to call in. It seemed as though everything was going wrong. But as soon as Apostle Burrell began to pray, I remembered what another minister told me the night before. This prayer call may have just started but it has the potential to reach a lot of souls and bless a lot of believers. I am well aware of this but guess what - so is the devil. He has his eyes set on ministries (and people!) that have the potential and power to bring more souls to Christ and strengthen personal relationships with God. Knowing this I shouldn't be frustrated. Instead I should be grateful and excited. I don't have to worry about Satan or his schemes because the bible tells us that we have power over the enemy (Luke 10) and that Satan is defeated. That's already done. Our Lord and Savior took care of that a long time ago. So our job today is to give Him all the glory, despite the enemy's tactics. While systems may not work, lines may be down, participants may be sick, prayer will still go forth and praises will still go up. God will still get all the Glory!
Remember this thought throughout the week. You will be amazed at how much just changing your perspective can change your situation. So give it a try. Then give God all the glory and come back and tell us about it here!!!
Love Always,
Metina
You are so right Metina, Everything that can go wrong will go wrong but, what type of attitude will you have during it will determine the outcome. You handled it well. Some would have cancelled, or even giving up but you stuck with it. Because of your faithfulness God produced his favor.
ReplyDeleteI woke up at 4:30am because I wasn't feeling well and I wanted to make sure that I was up to make the called.
This call will be a place for growth for many. Just stay with it no matter what.
We are planting seeds right now.
Great job Metina.

Tina, you are doing an excellent job with The Casting Call! As Kevin & Chanel said, you handled the situation with the last call very well!
ReplyDeleteWhen the enemy sees us growing closer to God and fulfilling the purpose God has for our life, he's worker harder to attack. He tries to get us to become discouraged, frustrated, and at times wanting to give up. But just as you did with the prayer call, we must continue have faith, trust God, and keep moving forward to what HE has called us to do.
Although this prayer call just started, it has truly blessed me. The prayers, testimonies, and devotions shared so far have encouraged me and strengthened my prayer life.
Keep doing what God has called you to do and you will continue to be blessed!
Lova Ya!
Kia
